E-mail identification for the academic and administrative staff of our university is automatic, and their accounts are automatically opened as soon as they are registered in the Personnel Information System. Academic personnel working with assignments are provided with an e-mail account with a request letter sent from their units. All users are given an e-mail account in the form of [email protected].
How do I find out my email account password and are there any rules about the account?
When you open your account, you must first create your own password for your security. To create a password, you should visit https://kimlik.aksaray.edu.tr/sifremiunuttum.aspx It is the responsibility of our users to protect and periodically change the password you create. Do not share your username and password information with anyone.

Since the identity server pulls the mobile phone information from the "Personnel Information System", the mobile phone information here must be update. For this, you can update your phone number by contacting your faculty/school/institute secretary.
What is a quota?
Every email account has a quota. This quota has been determined as 5 GB for all our personnel.
How can I check my quota?
When you log in to your account on the web, you can see your quota information in GB and percentage under your account name at the top right of the screen.
What happens when my quota is full?
When your quota is full, users who e-mail you receive an e-mail that your quota is full and you cannot receive an e-mail. It is important to clean your e-mails in your account regularly in order to use your quota effectively. Do not request quota increase for this.
Do I get a warning when my quota is about to expire?
Yes, when your capacity exceeds 90%, you will receive an e-mail that your quota is almost full.
Is my e-mail account closed when I leave the institution?
If your relationship is terminated, your account will be closed after 1 month. If your unit requests, your account can be closed 1 month in advance. If you retire, your e-mail account will be closed, but if you request it with a petition, your account will be activated.
How do I subscribe to e-mail lists?
There are two lists managed by the IT Department;

I want to send mass mail to mailing lists?
The authority to send mass mail to a group (academic or administrative) related to the university has been defined for the users/units determined by the IT Department for security reasons. Send your bulk mail requests to these units.
Who are the authorized units to send mass mail?
Press and Public Relations, General Secretariat, Rectorate and Information Technology Department.
What are the e-mail sending limits?
For security reasons, a user on the system can send to a maximum of 100 e-mail addresses within 30 minutes. During the day, it can send e-mails to a maximum of 2000 addresses in total.
The maximum number of forwarding addresses specified by the user is 300.
The maximum message size is 50MB, 30MB per file as a file attachment and cannot exceed 50MB.
How long does the trash and spam messages hold?
The retention period for both is 30 days.
I'm having trouble sending and receiving mail, what should I do?
We use antispam software for the safe and healthy operation of e-mail traffic. Please contact our department for detailed information.
How can I view emails that are marked as spam but not spam?
Emails marked as spam are sent to your inbox as "Spam Quarantine Report".
If you think the e-mail is not spam, if you know the sender account or if it is an e-mail you are waiting for, you can view the e-mail normally by clicking the "Deliver" button in the "Spam Quarantine Report" e-mail. Otherwise, the spam e-mail will be deleted within 31 days.
I get the message "A network error has occurred", what should I do?
If you enter your account password incorrectly, the system will protect itself. After 15 minutes, you will gain access when you try with the correct user information.
Can I change my e-mail account address?
Academic / Administrative personnel apply to the Information Processing Department with a petition in order to change the address when deemed necessary. If approved by the Information Technologies Department, the user is informed by changing the address by the e-mail manager.
